The gaming community is eagerly discussing the new class set to debut in Diablo 4’s upcoming expansion, Vessel of Hatred, which is scheduled for release late next year. Blizzard has kept details under wraps, but a leak from an internal testing version of the game has provided some intriguing insights.
This new class, distinct from the Witch Doctor and Paladin, is believed to be the “Spiritborn.” This information emerged from datamined text found by players who accessed a prematurely released version of the game. The Spiritborn class is expected to wield glaives and utilize a dual resource system for skill casting. The class’s mechanics seem to revolve around “deities,” and the names of the skills suggest the ability to summon pets or minions, likely drawing from the jungle environment of the expansion.
The speculation suggests that the Spiritborn might be a magical ranged class, using earth-based attacks and summoning various jungle creatures like spiders and bats. While there are some parallels to the Witch Doctor from Diablo 3, the Spiritborn is anticipated to offer a unique gameplay experience.
Blizzard has announced that more information about Diablo 4’s new class will be shared next summer. In the meantime, the gaming community remains engaged in piecing together the clues and looking forward to the novel dynamics this new class will introduce to the Diablo series.
